Every time Apple announces their latest and greatest I wind up with device envy. Yes, I want to upgrade so bad. This time CNN chimed in by saying “The MacBook Air M2 is the Apple Laptop I’ve been waiting for”. I look at my 2017 MacBook Air and think “we had a pretty good run old friend” and “Five years isn’t bad”. Then I look at finance app. The stock market hasn’t been very kind lately. Then I see 9-5Mac say ” The base M2 MacBook Air is right for me.” Base cool, maybe I can get it. Then I see base still is $1199 ($1291 with tax). Hmmm, can I upgrade? I see my current Air is still worth $250. That gets me down to about a grand., still hefty lift. M1 it is! A fine model is available on the secondary market for $650. And fully worth the $400 upgrade cost! Device envy problem solved!
